Despite living 15 minutes away from Bay Head for over 2.5 years, I don't think I ever went there. My old childhood hair-cutter used to live there. For as long as I can remember, my family always drove down there for our regular haircuts. But I don't recall having ever strayed from the same route there and back. I had no idea the town was as large as it was. I would've explored more of it but it was high tide and I didn't want to drive through all the flooded roads.

After having lost a portion of one of my earrings and trying a local parlor for a replacement, I finally went back to the place I got the earring years ago. It ended up being a lot easier (and cheaper!) than I thought to get it done. The place and people were just as nice and helpful as I remember them being. Definitely a day off well spent having accomplished that alone!

Not only was Crane 330 (Befriend) found, but it was re-released! On October 5th, I got an email from Lisa:

"Hi Sandy,

We found a nice sunny place for the “Befriend” crane on a bench alongside the playground at Parker Sickles Park in Little Silver this morning. Here’s a picture.

Lisa"

She and her co-workers Tori and Christine found the crane that I placed in Sickles Market, so they re-placed it for someone to find in the park nearby. How exciting!

I wanted to do a little area park exploring today since it seemed like the weather would hold out. So after checking out the market, I popped over to a couple of the area parks. If I was a park walker, this one has a mile long trail that seems like it would be pretty cool to traverse. Are there some cool nature trails by where you live that you enjoy visiting?

It felt like a perfect fall day, so I figured it was probably time to pick up some outdoor decorations. So I popped over to the only place I knew around here that would have mums for the front porch. I was impressed by the number of different colors there are. I've never bought mums before so hopefully I picked out a good one and my plant kiss of death doesn't get the best of me. Do you guys have any fall activities or traditions that you're excited to do?

When I had overheard at another store that the cupcake of the day (the 24th) was a chocolate cake with a full sized peanut butter cup baked in, I quickly searched out the shop. Chocolate + Peanut Butter combination is a weakness in my house, as are cupcakes. So I was pleased as punch knowing my dessert was going to be delish. Imagine my surprise when less than 2 hours later I received an email from Chris, an employee there, saying they found the crane! I included the picture he emailed me below.

I haven't done ceramics in ages. I regularly pass by this shop but it's usually closed since I stroll through weekday nights after work. But my midday weekend jaunt allowed me to pop in. There was a children's birthday party going on as well as a few other stragglers. I once had a ceramics birthday party as a child, and am glad to see it's still appealing to children. It got me to wondering what my last "child-like" birthday party I had where we did an activity and such. I honestly can't remember. Does anyone remember the last birthday party they had as a child? What was it?

Goodwill as a word reminds me more of the holiday season along with cheer, peace, and joy. So when I inadvertently used it, it got me anticipating the holiday season coming up. Now I certainly don't want to rush through autumn since I've got fond feelings toward it, but it was nice to think about being thankful and giving to loved ones.

I had forgotten that downtown Red Bank had parking meters that needed to be fed in order to park down there. My plans to release some cranes there had nearly been foiled by my lack of quarters. After pulling into a spot to see just how many quarters would be required, when I saw that my meter still had a two hours and forty-one minutes left! Now how's that for lucky! So thank you to that person that overpaid their meter and allowed me to release some more cranes. I made sure there was an hour and forty-five minutes on it before I left so that someone else could get the joy of having paid parking.

The only thing that I enjoy more than a library is a book sale, particularly when it's at a library. So when I heard the Red Bank Library was having a book sale, I was basically there. I'm always happy to support the library and acquire some new books. Where is your favorite place to buy books if you're a bookworm like me?
