I decided to pop out during my lunch break to get a little bite to eat, and to sit near a lovely little park to enjoy the nice weather we've been having the last couple of days. The lake in the middle of the park was still half frozen, seagulls perched on the frozen half while some other birds paddled in the thawed bit. It was nice to have my windows open and enjoy the breeze. After the snowy and cold winter we've had, I am definitely ready to welcome spring at this point in time!

I stopped in on a whim as it appeared to be open and I thought of getting a few tasty-bits to bring over to a friend I was visiting. I couldn't figure out where the yummies were but it appeared they were hosting a coffee house night as there was a woman on a guitar wailing away. Had I not been on my way to see someone, I might've stayed and explored a bit longer. That said, I'll definitely be back there again to see what they have to offer during the daylight hours. Pier Village has so many wonderful little shops and I definitely need to do a bit more exploring!

I went to a Christmas party this weekend at the Ocean Place Resort & Spa. I've been there in previous years for the annual Christmas party and find it more enjoyable each year. I decided to place this one on my way out since we decided to not spend the night in the hotel portion. Definitely a lovely place to celebrate the holidays.

Although the day is all but over here, today was International Day of Peace. Since I was a wee bit late in ripping off yesterday on my calendar, I didn't actually realize it until the end of the work day. I would've loved to have spread a few more cranes in celebration of the day. I think I'll carry the peace over to tomorrow in celebration by being pleasant and patient with people I encounter. So, even if it's a day late, celebrate the day by spreading peace tomorrow in your own way.

I admit that I am a library junkie. My first crane placement was in the library that I basically grew up in (as in went there since my elementary school years). For as much as I frequent them, I had no idea that there were so many in my a county! I guess I got in a habit of just going to the one that was most comfortable and familiar. But there are so many wonderful little town libraries out there that I am just getting to experience. I full accept how much of a bookworm this makes me sound! Do you have a favorite library you go to? If not, I recommend being open-minded and checking one (or several) out.

Propelling a blog is hard business, as most of you well know. It takes a lot of work going into content, trying to stay true to your inner blogger. Cultivating a readership also takes extensive work, attempting to find people that like what you do to come back more than once. Prettying up your blog to make it more appealing/professional/what have you is tough work if you're not a technologically savvy sort. I'm hoping to work a lot on all the above in the next couple months, in addition to actually releasing cranes. Hopefully it all pays off!

Since I went straight from work to releasing cranes, I wasn't able to change out of my professional clothing. I wonder if people thought the girl wearing heels and nice clothing to the beach was quirky. I think their assessment would probably be fair. Business casual at the beach doesn't really lend to being inconspicuous, that's for sure.

My first mobile crane! I have no idea where this little one ended up being when (if?) he was found. While the train might not be the best place to snuggle, hopefully someone found and appreciated this crane.

It's almost a year to the day since I donated 11 inches of hair to Pantene's Beautiful Lengths program. A number of my friends had donated their hair to different organizations and, in recent years, have had very long hair. I figured why not. I went to a local hair salon and told them what I was doing: donating my hair. And what did they do besides cut my hair? They donated the cut to me, free of charge. Definitely wasn't expecting that! My hair was a lot shorter than I was used to but remembering why I cut it made any bad hair days (and you best believe there were some!) well worth it. A few weeks later, I got a wonderful letter from Pantene in the mail thanking me for me donation. I would do it again right now if my hair was long enough.
