I had a lovely time in Virginia! I never really visited as a kid, so I really enjoy when I get to pop around to different places down there. Hopefully it won't be too long before I can visit again, and can search out some new (to me!) places to see.

I was pretty impressed by how large an area Fredericksburg encompassed, and how many Starbucks I managed to hit that were technically considered to be still in the town itself. Heck, I even managed to pass one by as I was thinking it would probably look like I was an addict! Fredericksburg seems to have anything that you could want and then some in a town. I wouldn't necessarily call is a prodigious town, but I was pretty impressed by its size.

The area had a very college-y feel as I drove through a portion of the campus for the College of William and Mary. I had a friend or two growing up that went there, but I never knew much about it other than it was further into Virginia than I had ever been. I wish I had a bit more time down there during the daylight hours to do a bit more exploring than I had managed to do! I bet the campus is quite lovely as most things in Fredericksburg manage to be!

I love a good card. Witty and puny cards are my favorite, but it's hard to turn away from a pretty one. I would love to send more snail mail than I actually do. I need to get myself  a pack of cards for the "just because" and send those out randomly. I bought pretty thank you cards a while back to get myself motivated to send more, but I don't manage to get my act together to write them.That doesn't stop me from lusting after pretty ones when I see them!

Where there is a library, there will be a crane placement! Driving down the highway, I saw the universal sign for a library and had to visit. This is such a lovely bright library! I imagine all the folks in the area like it. It definitely seems to have a wide variety of sections and amenities.

One of my favorite things to do, both at home and when traveling, is try to find local, non-chain eateries. Trying to find good food and support the smaller businesses where possible. If not possible, I at least want to try a chain that isn't one local to me. I had dinner at the Park Lane Tavern at the mall, which had pub style food. Definitely solid fare and good service. If I wind up staying in the same area again, I would definitely go back as there is a lack of good pub food in my area of NJ.

Splitsville is apparently half restaurant and with a couple lanes of bowling attached to a theater. I couldn't quite figure out what was going on. If I hadn't already picked up dinner, I would've been keen on sticking around to see what its deal was. If I happen to be back in the area though, I am certainly going to pick up a dessert there.

I popped into Books-A-Million before stopping into the mall for dinner. I do love a good book cover, as the ones shown here are. The reprints of classics often have such a fun and whimsical cover that I always make sure to look at them in any book shop I go into. I've not read near as many classics as I would like, but have a plan to start reading more of them starting in 2018. I'll definitely have to make sure to pick up a couple particularly pretty ones for my home library!

Found! This crane was found by an employee of Books-A-Million who then brought it to their manager. The manager e-mailed me letting me know she had found it, appreciated it, and would email me back once she had replaced it somewhere! Definitely will make sure to update this once I get word. Always love to hear from a crane finder!

Continuing on to my training, I stopped at the Virginia Welcome Center and saw this really neat penny machine. I had always thought about doing one of those when I was a kid, but rarely had change on me. Much the same now, I didn't have enough change on me to make myself a penny. But if I get down there again, I certainly will make sure I do so.

As watches often do, mine needed a new battery as it had stopped several days prior. I had gotten tired of wearing a watch that wasn't working, glancing at my wrist only to remind myself that it wasn't really 1pm several days prior. So I stopped at this mall in hopes of finding a place that could replace the battery. Among the plethora of other stores, I did indeed find a fellow who did watch repairs. Success was ever so sweet, and it is certainly nice to actually be able to look down and see the correct time again.

I totally wish I had more time to visit the many historic sites that are around Fredericksburg! It is quite the history mecca with Civil War sites, historic homes, a cemetery, and a nice waterfront area. I look forward to coming back to check out all of the good information I got from the visitor's center!

I enjoy going to a new place to see what sorts of different things they have that I've not tried before. I enjoyed myself some delicious blueberry iced tea. It was really delicate in flavor and a wonderful treat since the day was unseasonably warm for April. Definitely made for a nice addition while walking around the adorable town of Fredericksburg!
