So the reason we were at the gardens so late is that they were having a night lights display, which was stellar. They had all these different sort of fiber optic lights set up in different areas. I wish my camera hadn't died halfway through otherwise I would've gotten a bunch more photos. But it was cool to be in the woods and see hundreds of lit spheres through all the trees. It sort of made me feel like I was in the movie Avatar! Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

  1. My name is Megan and I am on vacation with my family in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. While touring the visitor's center at Fort Raleigh before going to see "The Lost Colony" (an outdoor show based on the founding of the colony of Roanoke), a park ranger said that she had found the crane in the back of one of the exhibits and since us teenagers would have known better about what to do about going on the website and would probably have more interest in it, she passed the crane to us. We haven't decided where to leave the crane exactly, but the crane was found in Manteo, North Carolina, which seems to be a relatively far stretch from Pennsylvania. I'll make sure to comment in a few days about where we decide to leave it. (:

  2. Hey Megan!
Glad I looked at this crane again. That was me, Lynette, from Newark, DE, who left that crane at the state park visitor center. I left it with a park ranger on July 12th when I was on vacation there for a few days, so I guess she or someone else decided to leave it go - she said she was going to give it to her son. Hope you come back and post where you ended up leaving it, I'm curious to see where it lands next :)
