I definitely don't recall there being a Starbucks in all the Disney parks last time I was here, but that now seems to be the case. We all know I enjoy a nice warm beverage but I just wanted to stop in to see what the inside looked like. Definitely looked pretty futuristic compared to some of the other Starbucks' I've seen. I enjoyed popping in for a quick peek. We didn't stop in Animal Kingdom, but I'd be interested to see what the one there looks like if there is indeed one.

We didn't really have a lot of time to explore after dinner in the Germany Pavilion. So I basically just did a whirlwind walk through the pavilion to look at the remaining open shop. Most of them had closed down at 10 or were in the process of closing. I had eaten at the pavilion back in 2009, but don't remember doing much exploring when we went that time. I definitely want to poke around a bit more next time I am in Epcot.

Sometimes I find myself really glossing over the pavilions in Epcot. But there are so many little nooks and crannies filled with lovely things! I definitely want to spend more time in Epcot just looking at all the little things each pavilion has to offer. The China pavilion had a whole little subsection that I didn't even know existed! It was really cool to see the Terracotta Warrior exhibit as well as lots of good information about it.

We took a quick long weekend trip down to the Orlando area in order to hit up the Disney Parks, as well as Universal, which I hadn't been to since I was 9. We stopped in the Mexico Pavilion in order to see what sorts of goodies they had and look at the exhibit information they displayed. Had we a bit more time, we definitely would've went on the ride in the pavilion. I had completely forgotten it existed! They definitely had a lot of lovely and colorful things there. But I had my eye set on the origami paper in the Japanese Pavilion, so I held out.

Always one to try out new things, a friend and I went to the Eagle Specialty Coffee. Although I am not a coffee drinker, they did have a variety of other non-coffee beverages for the likes of me. I ended up going with a nice tea, but could've easily been persuaded to enjoy a hot chocolate, fruit smoothie, or fresh fruit juice. My companion, a coffee drinker, has sung the praises of this non-chain coffee joint. I definitely could see myself enjoying a nice hot tea there on occasion as there are several more teas that I would like to try. A nice alternative to a Starbucks if you're looking for something a bit more personable. The people behind the counter were very helpful for a self-proclaimed newbie like myself, giving thoughtful recommendations. They are so excited about their product, they also popped by our table to give us a free sample of one of their coffees. It was good, so my friend told me.

We did a good bit of walking around the mall, which wasn't too busy despite being just a few days away from Christmas. I was pleased that we ended up having such great weather while we were there. It's not been terribly cold at home, but I didn't even need a light jacket when we would go out! The best time to visit Arizona is winter in my opinion. It's still pretty mild but not terribly hot like it gets most of the year.

We had a very relaxing vacation in Arizona. So relaxing that I think the only time I actually left the house was to visit the mall. So we popped into one of the stores to look at what they were selling. They had a lot of stores at this mall that the malls by me don't have. So it was pretty cool to see all the different places. I didn't end up getting anything because there was no more room in my suitcase. But it was nice seeing all the Christmas decorations!

We had made a trek out to Pennsylvania to go to one of our favorite haunted spots for some Halloween scaring. In a local field, they have a haunted hayride, haunted maize maze, and a haunted house. It's the same sorts of attractions every year but it's a lot of fun. After doing all those fun activities, we roast marshmallows at one of the several bonfires and enjoy a good s'more or two. This year I was adventurous and used the cookies'n'cream chocolate and chocolate graham crackers with my marshmallow. You only live once, right?

I met an out of town friend for dinner and a bit of an adventure in New York City. We decided to check out Roosevelt Island as we had never been. A word to the wise, do not visit on Tuesday when most of the tourist-y type things don't happen to be open. Despite that it ended up being a good trip. We walked the length of the island, saw the abandoned small pox hospital, the lighthouse at the northern tip, and even took the tram back over to Manhattan. Definitely worth a visit if you happen to be in the area. Provided that day isn't a Tuesday.

While I was down there, I picked up one of those deals on a Wine and Painting class from Impressive Designs. Myself and my guest, who are not artists by any stretch of the imagination, completed a very lovely sunset scene with water and palm trees. I definitely would go back there again and bought my host a deal as a thank you gift. If you happen to be in the area and interested in doing a painting class, I would highly recommend it. The shop was also neat with a bunch of pieces of art that we were able to look at prior to starting. They also provide a glass of local wine and a bit of wine tasting before hand. I will say that I do not like the majority of wines, but discovered an awesome white non-grape sangria that I quite enjoyed! I look forward to getting back there and taking another painting class again. It was a lot of fun!
