72. Caring

72. Caring
Definition:
(adj) feeling and exhibiting empathy for others
Location Placed: Eatontown Department of Motor Vehicles, Eatontown, New Jersey
Date Placed: 10/5/10 5:22pm

Stealth craning in action. Since the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is pretty open, and people are generally hostile to begin with, I didn't want to raise any suspicion with my camera flashing and my generally cheerful demeanor. Photos are compliments of my phone (and you can even see my camera in the background of the photo.

I think everyone needs a bit of care when heading into the DMV. It's very easy for the workers to get frustrated with the customers and vice versa. That said, I wasn't even able to accomplish what I went in there to do (unsurprisingly.) So instead of getting frustrated, I left a crane. And I will cheerfully give the main office a call tomorrow (despite the fact that the website told me I could go into any office...) So next time you're in the DMV and you're feeling a little frustrated, remember you're not alone and someone does care.

  4. The last time I went to the DMV to have my license picture taken the guy helping me was the nicest, cheeriest person ever. He remarked that My old license picture was great, but if I wanted a new one he'd take a couple till I liked the way it did look. Afterwards he sincerely told me to have a great day and I left with an awesome looking license and with quite the smile on my face. It was great!
