I've been trying to get a bit more out and about this summer, to varies degrees. I hadn't been to this area of Trenton before, but I recalled reading a lot about it in one of my guilty pleasure series by Janet Evanovich. Mostly the Stephanie Plum, bounty hunter, series takes place in Trenton with occasionally forays into neighboring towns. The New Jersey capital does not really have the greatest reputation, but this area is really quite lovely and far from actual downtown area.

This was the first time I had been to the Trenton Thunder baseball stadium in probably over a decade. It looks the same as I remember it. Definitely some different food options and merchandise, but it was the same Trenton Thunder and the same Boomer (the bird mascot). It was definitely a nice added bonus that the Thunder won! Hopefully it won't be another decade before I catch another game.

I think this was one of the most interesting installations I saw. In this art center, there were large pieces of food and utensils and all sorts of other things hanging from the walls and ceilings. I was pretty impresses as the room itself was quite large. Definitely gave me something to think about, in addition to the large amount of "realistic scenes" of people in a variety of situations. It definitely was a really fun outing and I'd recommend checking it out if you're in the area. Can't beat an outside "museum" when the weather is still quite lovely out!

Toad Hall was a lovely little art shop/museum at the Grounds for Sculpture. They had a bunch of neat looking jewelery as well as some nice wall hangings. I always like to have a poke around those sorts of shops because you never know what sorts of treasures you may find. I'm all about finding unique pieces to place around my house. A little trinket or knick knack from a trip reminding me of all the fun times or a handy little tool to make a mundane task a little more fun. You never know what you'll uncover

Being resilient is an extremely useful trait to have. Life throws a number of curve balls at people, and those who are able to adapt to change are able to navigate it effectively. Nothing is ever perfect, so being flexible in the face of adversity is helpful. I admire people who are resilient, and hope that is a quality I possess during such times. It had been several years since I had been to the Grounds for Sculpture. It's basically an art garden with sculptures interspersed among them with several museum areas. It was just as pretty as I remember it. I really enjoyed having a relaxing walk around by the water and all the different little garden nooks and crannies. I'm looking forward to going back in the not too distant future with my friends to enjoy it during the fall.
