I think this one might have been my earliest crane placement to date! I'm not a morning person but traveling gives me the pre-trip jitters, so I was pretty wide awake. Not highly functioning, that's for sure, but I was certainly awake. It was nice to make it to my destination earlier than I make it to work on a standard Friday!

Whenever I can, I try to be as pleasant and chipper to those I encounter. I carpooled with a coworker to the convention today. After the 5th or 6th toll collector that I wished a good day to (even when their mood was obviously sour), she made a comment. It was along the lines of how if everyone was that pleasant to strangers, a lot more people would have better days. What do you do to make someone else's life a little more pleasant?

This was one of the first hydrants that they used in the boardwalk area of A.C. (I think.) Regardless, to me, it is a symbol of all the courageous people that put their lives on the line for our safety. This only solidified my feelings when less than 10 minutes later I saw several firemen in their gear on the boardwalk. I just wanted to take the time to thank all those wonderful people, be they firefighters, police or EMS workers, those in the military, etc. Is there anyone that you find courageous?

A work conference lead me to being down in Atlantic City today. In between sessions, I took a bit of a stroll down the boardwalk area to see how many places I could release cranes before I had to get back for the following talk. Brisk weather but not too bad for walking. Not optimal for outdoor crane placing, sadly. I had never walked down the Boardwalk in all the times I've been down there for movies, concerts and outings with friends. Definitely a good place for a midmorning walk.
